Description: A substantial antique Australian cedar chest of drawers displaying the rich colour and distinctive grain for which Australian cedar is so highly regarded. The chest features an unusual and practical arrangement of two small central drawers flanked by two deeper drawers, above three full-width drawers, providing generous storage while creating an attractive, balanced façade.
The original style turned timber handles are particularly appealing, each detailed with a mother-of-pearl inset at the centre. The upper central drawers feature recessed brass campaign-style handles, adding another interesting period detail. Shaped drawer fronts, keyholes and the gently rounded corners of the top and base further enhance the character of the piece.
