About this piece

French regulator clock, late 19th century, housed in a bronze case on four scrolled feet. The case shows strong Louis XV influence with a touch of Art Nouveau from its period and features four bevelled glass panels. The enamelled dial is embellished with floral and foliate detail. Fitted with a compressed mercury pendulum.

The movement has been professionally serviced and is offered complete with key. The gilt finish has worn thin from historical cleaning, presenting an aged patina; professional re-gilding in genuine gold leaf can be arranged on request.
