About this piece
A rare find, this antique 1920s Otis King pocket calculator is a compact cylindrical slide rule designed for mathematical calculations. Originally used before electronic calculators, it allowed users to perform multiplication, division, and other complex calculations by rotating the scales along its body. Its clever design made it portable and practical for engineers, scientists, and students of the era. The calculator works by aligning numbers on the scales to find products or quotients without manual computation.
