A Regence Style Walnut Fauteuil à la Reine
The arched rectangular padded back above a generous serpentine seat, upholstered in green velvet and close-nailed with brass, the moulded downswept arms terminating in scrolled and acanthus-carved handholds, on incurved coup de fouet arm supports carved with acanthus, the shaped seat rail centred by a pierced shell and foliate cartouche flanked by scrolling leaves, on cabriole legs carved at the knees with acanthus and ending in scroll toes.
