About this piece
A pair of original high-back Falcon Chairs with detachable armrests – the rare version of this chair. Designed by Sigurd Ressell for Vatne Møbler, made in Norway in the 1970s.
The high back provides extra comfort and support, and the removable arms let you set the chairs as open loungers or fuller armchairs as desired.
Construction: leather over a slung cotton base suspended in a bentwood frame by chrome hoops.
Provenance: each chair has its original Artes Studios Sydney labels. Artes Studios was an influential modern design retailer that imported the Falcon in the 1970s. It later became Space Furniture.
Condition: Wear commensurate with age and use. Note that chair 1 has three tiny holes in the seat leather (approx. 3-5 mm long; see photo).
