A pair of painted fauteuils in the Louis XVI taste, each with a rectangular upholstered back above a bowed seat rail, open arms and slender tapering legs.
The cream-painted frames are enriched with restrained neoclassical carving, including fluted and leaf-carved arm supports, moulded seat rails and carved details at the shoulders of the backs. The chairs retain an attractive aged painted surface with visible rubbing and patina, and are upholstered in pale yellow floral damask with silver-toned woven decoration.
In good antique condition with wear, rubbing and minor losses to the painted finish consistent with age. The upholstery remains presentable with minor signs of use.
