A Pair of French Louis XIII Walnut Side Chairs
Each chair has a tall, arched back and an overupholstered seat with a serpentine front, both covered in natural linen with piped edges. The seat rail is carved to the front with a shaped, scalloped apron. The chairs stand on baluster- and ring-turned front legs with square blocks at the joints and bun feet, and on square-section rear legs. The legs are joined by a turned front stretcher and a turned H-form stretcher below.
