About this piece
A good George III mahogany bow-front chest of four graduated drawers, the gently curved façade fitted with oval brass handles and individual key escutcheons, and raised on short bracket feet beneath a shaped apron.
The chest is particularly well detailed with contrasting boxwood stringing and geometric inlay, including lattice decoration to the front uprights and a corresponding inlaid panel beneath the top. The figured mahogany retains a rich, mellow colour and attractive aged surface.
In very good antique condition with minor surface wear, scratches and marks consistent with age and use. Some minor veneer loss to the side of one foot. The existing patina has been retained.
