About this piece
Onyx and gold are a combination which never ceases to look tasteful. This signet ring has been crafted from 14 karat yellow gold and is set with an octagonal cut piece of black onyx which is rub-over set. The yellow gold ring features three very small gold hallmarks to the rear of the shank which are very likely Dutch in origin, however have been difficult to attribute. It is possible that the ring was manufactured by Stigter of Schoonhoven in the Netherlands, however we have been unable to firmly attribute them as the maker. To the inside of the shank is a date for '3/6/70' which is perhaps the date when the ring was originally gifted. Whilst this ring has no great age associated with it, it is in very good condition overall and would make for a lovely dress ring for a gent who appreciates nice things, and could even have a monogram engraved into the onyx if desired.
