Details

Early edition world clock created by Arthur Imhof SA in La Chaux-de-Fonds for the Royal Geographical Society, produced within the original Imhof manufacturing run prior to later production by the Franklin Mint. Imhof was a Swiss maker recognised for precision pieces and special commissions for major European houses.

The design translates global timekeeping into a single sculptural instrument. Hallmarks of this early Imhof period include brass columns, a black timber base, and a finely detailed terrestrial globe printed in gilt. The underside carries an engraved 1979 plate identifying it as one of the first units from the initial four-year production cycle.

Condition: Presents very well with a well-preserved finish to metal, timber, and globe surfaces. Not tested; a professional service is recommended prior to use.
