About this piece

A beautiful and highly characterful 19th-century French faux-bamboo bed, crafted from Baltic pine and featuring wonderfully detailed turned and faux-bamboo decoration throughout.

A real statement piece with gorgeous warmth and patina. The bed features turned bamboo-style rails, carved detailing, substantial turned corner posts and finials, with beautifully shaped head and foot ends.

The natural wear, marks and variation in the timber are part of its appeal and are consistent with its age and history. It has developed a lovely aged patina rather than being over-restored, retaining the character you want from an authentic antique.

Details:

  • 🇫🇷 French, 19th century
  • Baltic pine construction
  • Distinctive faux-bamboo detailing
  • Beautiful turned posts and finials
  • King single size / French dimensions
  • Custom mattress required due to the antique sizing
  • Plank timber base included (not pictured)
  • Original aged finish with some patina, marks and signs of age in keeping with a piece of this era
  • Solid and beautifully decorative

This would make an incredible feature in a bedroom, guest room or as a statement piece in a character/heritage home. Equally beautiful styled simply with linen and neutral bedding.

Please note: This is an antique piece and is not pristine/new furniture. The natural imperfections, marks, tonal variation and patina are part of its charm and should be expected.
