Oil on canvas depicting a still life bouquet of white and purple lilacs, arranged and rendered with delicate, controlled brushwork.
Presented in its original ornate gilt frame with a stepped profile that draws the eye inward to the composition. The frame carries rich carved detailing along the edges, providing depth and formality.
The reverse displays early 20th-century construction: solid timber with darker staining and natural patina, butt-joined corners, and the canvas tacked directly to the stretcher in keeping with period techniques.
Period & Origin: Most likely 1920s. Artist unknown.
Condition:
- Excellent overall condition given its age
- Minor oxidation and light wear to the wood consistent with age
