About this piece
A vintage Japanese sewing box, known as a hari bako. Made from keyaki (elm) wood. Mid 20th century.
A simple, well made box with a warm, even colour. The lid lifts to a compartment split into sections, which is handy for keeping smaller things sorted, with four drawers underneath. The slim handles keep it looking clean and fairly modern.
