About this piece
Vintage French Louis XV style side table with a shaped bombé form body, floral marquetry decoration and gilt metal mounts. The single drawer is decorated with floral and urn-form marquetry, repeated across the sides and shaped top. Raised on slender cabriole legs with gilt-metal sabots and decorative mounts to the front corners. Finished in warm figured timber veneers with a high-polish surface, the piece has the elegant serpentine form and decorative detailing associated with the Louis XV style. Vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including light surface marks, rubbing and minor wear to the finish and metal mounts. Please refer to photographs. A coordinating Louis XV style marquetry commode with black marble top is also available separately. Similar in scale, finish and form, the two work beautifully together as near pair bedside tables.
