A striking set of vintage Susie Cooper Broken Stripes espresso cups (coffee cans) with matching saucers, finished in a beautiful earthy 1970s palette of olive, plum, taupe and chocolate tones. A quintessential example of British modernist tableware from Susie Cooper’s later design period, with the iconic irregular vertical stripe motif that gives this range its distinctive graphic character.
Susie Cooper was one of Britain’s most celebrated ceramic designers, known for bringing modern design into everyday tableware. Her later collaborations with Wedgwood produced some of the most collectible mid-century and 1970s entertaining pieces, with Broken Stripes being a standout for its clean architectural patterning and sophisticated retro palette.
Condition
Very good vintage condition. Cups are all in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Some light surface scratches / signs of use to the saucers as pictured, consistent with age.
