About this piece
A striking signed Murano glass bowl by Archimede Seguso, showcasing the exceptional artistry and technical mastery for which Venetian glass became world renowned.
Crafted in thick crystal-clear glass, the bowl is animated by dramatic spiralling ribbons of emerald green and cobalt blue that sweep gracefully around the form before converging into a hypnotic vortex at the centre.
The sculptural freeform shape creates constantly changing reflections and colour effects from every angle, making the piece as impressive viewed from above as it is in profile.
Both functional and decorative, this substantial Murano bowl serves beautifully as a centrepiece while also standing alone as a work of Italian glass art.
Archimede Seguso remains one of the most important names in twentieth-century Murano production, and signed examples continue to attract collectors of fine Venetian glass worldwide.
