The geometric precision of one tradition, the floral refinement of the other. Natural dyes were prized in the best Malayer pieces, with deep tones used as a rich backdrop for an exquisite spectrum of secondary colour, and this one is exactly that, a deep chocolate field carrying a tight, all-over diamond lattice in soft camel and warm stone. The boteh motif of a teardrop or curved leaf shape appears woven into the lattice throughout, an ancient symbol representing life and continuity.
