Authentic Pierre Jeanneret Teak "Office Chair" from Chandigarh, India (PJ-SI-28) Office Cane Chair, circa 1953-54, with a slanted back attached to the seat. Refurbished carefully with straight pattern caning and purchased through one of the most reputable dealers based in Switzerland (original authenticity documents available with purchase). A-shaped legs are a specific signature element for Chandigarh pieces designed by Pierre Jeanneret alongside Le Corbusier. Each chair acquired looks a bit different and has a slightly different character. In wonderful patinated condition with the underside completely untouched in an effort to keep its age and history alive. This chair was acquired through a reputable dealer as an authentic, original piece from the 50s. Relevant documents come with the chair. For collectors who are versed in the history of Chandigarh, India and would like to own a piece of history. All images are of the actual chair.
