The Safari chair was born! This arm chair was Duffecys’ version, lower and more reclined than the campaign Chair this is a Safari Arm / Lounge chair. This dates from the Cabana/ Duffecy collaborative era ( late 1950s early 60s ). About this piece

Australian designer John Duffecy’s interpretation of the campaign-influenced Safari chair, developed during the Cabana/Duffecy collaborative era of the late 1950s to early 1960s. This arm/lounge chair adopts a lower, more reclined posture than traditional campaign models, reflecting the relaxed ergonomics associated with the Safari typology.

Originally from the ‘Jack’ house in Wahroonga. The chair has been fully restored and re-covered in cowhide with natural leather highlights, the leatherwork executed by a master saddle maker commissioned for the project.
