Matthew Larwood Large Pink Tone Art Glass Platter.
This beautiful piece of Art Glass was hand blown by Australian Glass Artist Matt Larwood. Matt worked as a Glass artist for 17 years, and was an Artistic Director of the Jam Factory in Adelaide for around 17 years, during the 1990's. He no longer works with Glass but still resides in Adelaide. This stunning piece is signed on the base (please see the photographs as they form part of the description). There is a polished pontil mark to the underside of the base where the glass blowing rod was snapped off after the piece was completed. The base is clear and allows the coloured section of the platter to be shown at its best. The condition is very good although there are a few minor scratches due to age and wear (see photographs as they form part of the description). There are no cracks or chips. This platter is a feature piece. It measures 39 cm in diameter and is 4 cm high at the rim. Great care is taken when packaging all fragile items. A magnificent gift idea.
