The subsequent campaign, the 4th Liberty Loan, is in stark contrast as it uses a wry humour to depict a money-pilfering woman, foiled by the patriotism of her male partner. It is unclear what the relationship is between the two characters in this poster, but the message is clear: the woman is depicted as a dumb blonde out for herself and the man as having done his civic duty by investing his spare change in the Liberty Loan.
