Details

Australian pottery by John Eagle. Set of four shallow bowls, a lovely gift for a Birthday, Christmas, Housewarming or as functionable home decor. They are not identical but have the same glaze and similar decorations which since they are handmade this leaves room for slight changes to the bowl and colours. These shallow bowls are in excellent used condition, there appears to be no chips, cracks or scratches. Please view the photographs as they form part of the description.

They measure 16 cm in diameter across the top, 4 cm high and 7 cm across the base. Great care is taken when packaging and shipping all fragile items. Recycled packaging is used wherever possible.

John Eagle (1942- ) completed a Diploma of Fine Art (Ceramics) at RMIT in 1976. While still a student he was selected for inclusion in Craft Victoria '75 at the National Gallery of Victoria. After graduating, he taught briefly then established a studio at Linton, Victoria, and became a full-time potter, earning 'Craft Mark' accreditation for his work. In 1988, he was awarded the Australian Bicentennial Art-Craft Award for Functional Pottery. In January 2007, he relocated from Linton to Ararat where he now lives and works. He has entries in the 1990 and 1996 directories, and was one of the artists represented in Skepsi's 'Celebrating the Master' exhibition in 2004. His mark is a distinctive painted signature consisting of just four strokes. (Australian Potters' Marks)
