J. & G. Meakin was an English pottery manufacturing company founded in 1851 and based in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
This lidded tureen is produced in the ‘Shantung’ pattern which was made in the 1960s. It shows a rust coloured rural scene.
The tureen is 13cm to the top of the lid, and is 24cm in diameter. The tureen itself is a lovely multi faceted shape.
The tureen is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is one area of staining on one side which I have pictured.
