Made in Switzerland Serial number: 3294764 A beautiful seafoam green Hermes 3000 typewriter. Built in 1965 a year before the 3000 changed shape to a more angular styling. The contours of the curvy 3000 and subtle green tones of the keys and body are sublime. Regarded as one of the finest typewriters ever built and possibly the best portable typewriter ever made.
The 3000 is a writer's typewriter, with the likes of Stephen Dixon, Stephen Fry, Eugene Ionesco, Jack Kerouac, Morris Lurie, Sylvia Plath, J.B. Priestley, Adrienne Rich, Sam Shepard, Helen Thomas, Elie Wiesel and Bob Woodward all using the 3000. This machine comes with its original manual and brushes. The perfect machine to write with purpose and consequence.
The machine has been expertly repaired by Elite Office Machines after being dropped. In excellent condition with a few minor scratches and scuffs. A new ink ribbon has been installed. The machine works perfectly.
