About this piece
This sculptural night light takes the form of a simplified giraffe, rendered in smooth white polymer with minimal detailing. Its elongated neck and gently tapered legs create a quiet verticality, while the understated facial features — reduced to small circular eyes and soft-edged ears — lend the piece a calm, almost abstracted presence.
The light source is discreetly housed within the torso, designed to emit a diffused, ambient glow. When illuminated, the body functions as a shade, softening the light and enhancing the object’s silhouette. When unlit, it reads as a pared-back decorative sculpture, defined by clean lines and a matte surface.
Produced under the name zzOOLight, the work reflects early 21st-century interest in playful yet restrained domestic design. Positioned between functional object and character form, it exemplifies a broader movement toward sculptural lighting intended for intimate interior settings, particularly children’s rooms and informal living spaces.
