The linenfold paneling of this beautiful English oak wardrobe has been expertly carved, with strong gothic revival characteristics. This styling is also evident in the seahorse shaped hinges and top curve of the doors. The symmetry of the piece provides balance to the flourishes of carvings. Resulting in a highly detailed, yet unpretentious wardrobe that is perfectly proportioned for the majority of bedrooms. A bit of history
In 1849 Alfred Denby established his furniture business in Leeds. He joined forces with Albert Spink in the 1860s to create Denby & Spinks Ltd. As the business grew they set up a new headquarters in 1 Albion Place in central Leeds in 1876. A former Music Hall, Albion Place was the center of their empire until 1958.
