Details

This good quality Edwardian sterling silver soup ladle was made in London in 1911 by the firm of Holland, Aldwinckle and Slater. The decoration is their version of an older pattern known as Hanoverian Military Thread with Shell, where the tip of the handle features a Georgian style shell which is then reflected with another shell on the back of the bowl. The overall length is 325 mm (12 3/4 inches) and the bowl is 105 mm (4 1/8th inches) across and 38 mm (1 1/2 inches) deep. It weighs approximately 310 grams (approx. 9.97 troy ounces) and is in very good condition.
