The Cascade is a high-performance ergonomic "working" rocker. It’s the ultimate "tool for sitting". The Cascade is a must for anyone who spends long periods of time in a chair. Suitable for the office, home or chambers. The Cascade is beautifully balanced. The short rocking action promotes active sitting. Natural body movement constantly changes the position of the chair, easing joints, muscles and ligaments. This is a high performance chair in every sense of the word. The Cascade is a signature Dunstone Design piece and we reserve our very best timber for making them.
The Cascade was based on the Academic chair and the original was made for Melbourne-based Professor of Philosophy Aubrey Townsend. Professor Townsend desired a chair that kept him moving while he sat reading for work or listening to opera. The late Swedish designer/maker Rasmus Malbert worked with Evan on the Cascade over a seven week period in 2006.
