Polished and aged brass, a high comb crest and a sharply defined brim give this vintage firefighter's helmet an imposing sculptural presence. The protective form has a striking balance of engineering, ornament and authority.
Made by Sydney manufacturer Rider and Bell in the traditional New South Wales fire brigade pattern, its ventilation detailing, rear skirt and leather interior retain the character of historic service equipment.
