Details
Raija Uosikkinen’s Pomona series has become a well-known symbol of Finnish mid-century pottery design. It was made of porcelain and designed in 1962 at the Arabia factory.
In the 1960s, the entire area around Arabia’s factory in Helsinki was a garden city with beautiful wooden houses, large gardens, and old apple trees. Raija Uosikkinen often found ideas for her patterns from nature and her garden, so she didn’t have to venture far from her studio to find the motifs for Pomona.
This lidded jam pot features the apple motif and is in good condition.
It is 9.5cm tall and 10.5cm in diameter.
