A truly beautiful and increasingly rare antique dining table, believed to date from circa 1895–1905, representing the transition from the Late Victorian to the Early Edwardian era.
Crafted with a stunning book-matched burr walnut veneered top, this piece showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of the period. The elegant floral marquetry inlay, richly carved pedestal base and original porcelain casters are all characteristic of quality furniture produced at the turn of the twentieth century.
Unlike many antiques that have been heavily sanded or modernised, this table has been carefully revived while preserving its original character and heritage. The timber has been gently nourished using Gillies Scratch Cover to enhance the natural depth and warmth of the walnut, before being finished with Gillies Beeswax to protect the existing finish and highlight the beautiful patina developed over more than a century.
This sympathetic restoration allows the table to retain the charm, authenticity and history that make genuine antiques so special, rather than removing the evidence of its age through aggressive refinishing.
