This exceptional display cabinet features a graceful serpentine front, curved glazed sides and door, allowing treasured collections to be admired from multiple angles while flooding the interior with natural light.
The cabinet is richly adorned with finely cast ormolu mounts that highlight the elegant curves of the piece, while the lower panels are decorated with exquisite floral marquetry inlay, demonstrating the high level of craftsmanship associated with fine French cabinet making of the late nineteenth century. The Vernis Martin style decoration, inspired by the celebrated Martin brothers of eighteenth-century France, adds further refinement and sophistication.
Opening in its original key, the glazed door reveals a luxurious red-upholstered interior fitted with glass display shelves, creating the perfect setting for porcelain, crystal, silver, sculptures, or other treasured collectables. The cabinet is raised on tall, slender legs finished with ornate ormolu mounts, giving it a light and elegant appearance while maintaining excellent stability.
