On offer is a very good stylish and genuine antique French later 1800s Louis Philippe Partners Desk with decorative fluting reminiscent of the earlier Louis XVI style.
The desk is finished in desirable and prestigious imported Central American Mahogany. Being a partners Desk the other side of the desk is identical to the front side.
The rectangular top has a nice edge molding and an inset gold tooled light green leather writing surface, The frieze section has a large central knee hole drawer with smaller drawers above the pedestals on either side. The frieze also features decorative recessed panels with brass moldings . Each pedestal has three graduated stacked drawers all Oak lined and with recess paneled drawer fronts, brass drawer pull handles and brass moldings around the recessed drawer panels. plus original brass locks. Either side of the drawers are three full height vertical flutes with brass inlays. The pedestals are on plinth bases with their original short turned feet.
Condition: Very good commensurate with its age and use. The leather is in very good condition as is the woodwork and original polished finish with only minor usage marks. Photographed as it was delivered so we will detail and clean it plus give it a good wax polish.

Price: This type of Desk used to sell for around $6,000 - $7,000 back in the 1980s. Now it is available 35-40 years later for $2,850 which has to be a good buy.
