Antique French 19th century carved walnut cabinet

19th century french carved walnut cabinet. At the top of the cabinet sits a finely carved pelmet mounted with 3 turned finals,. the two finals on the sides are mounted on platforms set with angled supports each carved with flowers. The center final sits on top of a carved alcove originally meant for displaying a small porcelain vase. Foliage and grapevine carving with a winged cherub in the center decorates the top of the two door cupboard section. Three carved cotton reel columns are mounted on each side and in the middle of the two cabinet doors. The cabinet door fronts are carved with a diamond shaped pattern.and there are two small drawers fitted underneath them... The base of the cabinet is fitted with two frieze drawers.. The finely carved decoration on the base matches the carving on the top section of the cabinet. The cast metal escutcheons and drawer pulls are original. The cabinet has its original waxed patina with no restoration work. French circa 1880
