These are a very good high quality set of six genuine antique English 19th century William IV period (1 830 - 1837 ) Dining Chairs so they still have a very strong classic Georgian rail and bar back design.
The chairs are well crafted from solid prestigious imported Brazilian Rosewood. The backs have a shaped and curved Top rail and a lower decorative waist rail in the shape of a carved folate embellished French ‘C’ shaped inverted scroll. from the top rail to the centre rectangular panel between the scrolls on the waist rail there is a vertical saw pierced carved splat with stylised decorative carving. The seat rails are vertical and straight and the front legs are nicely turned and tapered and are embellished with ring turnings and a long inverted carved Tulips.
The webbed and padded seats are upholstered in a green leather which has an individually studded finish.
Condition: Very good original in that the frames are solid and still have the original polished finish. These chairs would benefit from a professional refurbishment to the polish which we can organise.

Sellers Observation: This is only half of what our seller paid for them in the late 1900s over a quarter of a century ago. Oh how times have changed and there has never been a better time price wise to purchase quality antiques.
