About this piece
Description: Originally designed to house a gramophone, this antique English mahogany cabinet has found a new purpose as a wonderfully versatile storage piece. Its compact proportions, four cupboard doors and lift-up lid provide plenty of possibilities for use throughout the home.
Imagine having your favourite perfumes, jewellery and everyday makeup neatly arranged beneath the lift-up lid, all within easy reach. A mirror could even be fitted to the underside of the lid, transforming the cabinet into a compact dressing or beauty station without taking up valuable space in the bedroom.
The cabinet features four doors arranged in two sections, offering additional storage for cosmetics, accessories, personal belongings or other household essentials. The two upper doors have small round handles, matched by a second pair on the lower doors, giving the cabinet a simple, balanced appearance.
Constructed in mahogany with warm reddish-brown tones, the cabinet retains its traditional character with a moulded top, gently shaped sides and decorative scroll feet. The sloping lift-up lid adds an interesting architectural detail and is a reminder of the cabinet's original purpose.
Whether placed in a bedroom, dressing room, bathroom or living area, this adaptable piece offers a neat and practical storage solution. Its compact design makes it particularly appealing where space is limited, while its antique character adds something special to the room.
A lovely opportunity to give an original English gramophone cabinet a completely new purpose in the modern home.
