Description: This antique English mahogany music cabinet, also known as a Canterbury, is an elegant and highly practical piece that offers a variety of storage possibilities beyond its original purpose. Beautifully proportioned, it features a bevelled glass drop-front door that opens to reveal three pull-out trays, originally designed for storing sheet music but equally suited to magazines, documents, or treasured collections.
The lower cabinet contains a fixed shelf, creating two useful storage compartments with clearances of approximately 18 cm to the upper section and 19 cm to the lower section. Decorative details include an attractive shaped backboard and a finely cut fretwork skirt, both enhancing the cabinet's refined appearance.
Its compact size and versatile design make it equally at home in a living room, study, music room or hallway, where it can serve as both a functional storage cabinet and an attractive period feature.
