Antique 19th century emerald green Shiwan ware Tea pot

This very attractive antique hexagonal form green glazed teapot is typical of the ceramic glazed pottery made in the Shiwan kilns in Guangdong known as Shiwan ware, especially during the 18-19th century. Shiwan ware includes all types of household wares such as vessels, cookware, teapots, chopstick holders and oil lamps. This hexagonal pot has deep crevices at the joint of each facet, a small curved spout, small round lid with fitted stopper and a yoked rounded handle with simple spiral decorations. It is in good condition with minor discoloration and wear consistent with age including wear on spout.
