Produced in Denmark by Stouby during the 1960s, this two seat sofa combines oxblood leather upholstery with an exposed beech timber frame, rounded rails and closely spaced vertical spindles. The enclosed leather sides sit within the open timber structure, a particularly effective expression of Danish modern design that gives the compact sofa architectural clarity from every angle. Deep loose cushions and dark wine toned leather temper the disciplined frame with warmth and a settled club like atmosphere. Small areas of peeling to the upper leather surface are present along several edges and have been stabilised with leather sealer to help arrest further lifting.
