About this piece

This majolica glazed vase is made up of a ladies hand holding a bunch of bullrushes which forms the vase part. Her wrist is clothed in a ruffled sleeve, over which is a beaded bracelet, and she has an unusual ring on her index finger. The vase is unmarked. It stands 218 mm (8.5 inches) high and has a diameter of 80 mm (3.25 inches) across the base. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It would date from around 1860.
