Petite crystal carafe with stopper by the Czech glassmakers Moser, in the 'Splendid' pattern. Crafted from lead-free crystal, the design features an ornate 24‑karat gilt rim over an intricately cut crystal body. Introduced by Leo Moser in 1911, the Splendid pattern has appeared in a range of forms and has long been associated with formal dining; notably, the Czechoslovak president gifted Splendid crystal to Queen Elizabeth II for her wedding in 1947.
This example retains its original retail label and carries an acid‑etched Moser signature to the underside, indicating post‑1992 manufacture (after Czechoslovakia became the Czech Republic). In near‑immaculate condition with no chips or cracks; minor wear to the underside consistent with age. Well suited to serving vinaigrettes or balsamic vinegar.
