English George III circular tilt-top supper or tea table in Cuban mahogany (Central American), suited to use as a small supper or dining table, or as a larger occasional table.
The top is a single piece of solid timber with an applied beaded border. A tilt mechanism allows the top to fold for compact storage, while a birdcage support enables the top to revolve, functioning similarly to a modern “lazy Susan”.
The turned central column features a decorative urn-shaped turning above a vertical cylindrical base. Three cabriole-style, shaped and tapered legs form a tripod base, each foot fitted with cast brass lion paw toe caps and complete brass castor assemblies.
