About this piece
Solid rosewood chest of drawers in the João V Portuguese Rococo taste, dating to the second half of the 18th century. The case is defined by acanthus leaf-carved columns and large outwardly scrolled feet, with a mellowed rosewood surface that highlights the dense figure of the timber.
Fitted with brass drawer handles that are not original but are sympathetic to the period style.
Condition: Recently restored in-house. Minor losses and wear consistent with age and use.
Dimensions: 127 cm W x 65 cm D x 97 cm H
