About this piece

Large late 17th–early 18th-century Aubusson tapestry with a verdure ground and a narrative scene of David and Bathsheba. The textile retains strong, vivid colour and a notable sheen, attributed to an unusually high proportion of silk used in its manufacture.

Freshly cleaned and in good condition. Stabilised with a later strong linen backing. Hanging options include Velcro or suspension from a pole. Sourced in Paris.
