This petite crystal carafe was made by the famed Czech glassmaking firm, Moser. The carafe which is made from lead free crystal is in the 'Splendid' pattern which was first introduced by Leo Moser in 1911. The pattern features an ornate 24 karat gilt rim which sits atop of a very intricate cut crystal body and has been made in a variety of shapes and sizes throughout its history. The Splendid pattern has been a staple among some of the world's finest dining rooms for decades with the Czechoslovak president gifting the late Queen Elizabeth II a selection of Splendid crystal for her wedding in 1947. From the typography of the Moser signature to the underside we can ascertain that the piece was crafted post 1950, and as was purchased with a group of Moser that was all manufactured post 1992 it leads us to believe it is late 20th century in manufacture. In near immaculate condition the carafe appears to have been rarely used, and presents with no chips or cracks and only minor wear to the underside commensurate with age and use. A delightful addition to the breakfast table which could hold maple syrup or just enough honey to top some granola.
