Antique Australian Victorian Cedar Stationery / Clerk’s Desk – c.1880
Rare and substantial Australian Victorian cedar desk with original fitted stationery cabinet, pigeonholes and drawers.
A beautiful example of late-19th-century Australian furniture, believed to date from approximately 1870–1890 (circa 1880).
The desk is constructed in Australian cedar and features an unusually useful and attractive fitted upper section with numerous pigeonholes and document compartments, enclosed side sections, drawers and a spacious writing area.

Top hutch is seperate and sits on top of desk.
The desk has been used in more recent years as a computer workstation. The computer equipment can be removed and the original shelf reinstated, so this is a reversible and non-permanent adaptation. The original shelf and key are retained. (The original shelf is actually a loose shelf and easily removable).
The desk has a wonderful aged patina and would make an exceptional statement piece for a study, library, home office or collector of Australian colonial/Victorian furniture.
