Swedish designer Folke Ohlsson was one of the quiet forces behind the global rise of Scandinavian modernism in the 1950s and 60s. Trained in the principles of functionalism and simplicity, Ohlsson believed furniture should be beautiful, practical, and built to last. When he began designing for DUX, his work helped define the clean-lined, organic aesthetic that would become synonymous with Danish and Scandinavian design, showcasing refined teak-framed seating, low profiles, and modular forms that suited the new, relaxed style of modern living. Ohlsson’s designs were admired for their slender timber frames, sculptural armrests, and an effortless balance between structure and comfort - they relied on proportion, craftsmanship, and honest materials to speak for themselves.

The Suite
This absolutely stylish three-piece sofa suite embodies everything that made Ohlsson’s work so enduring.
Stripped completely bare and rebuilt from the frame up, it has been restored with care and respect for its mid-century origins. All cushions have been replaced with new, supportive foams, ensuring modern-day comfort, while the coil bases have been repaired to retain the integrity of the original construction. It’s soft to sit on making it a true lounge with comfort.
The suite sits proudly within its slender teak surrounds — beautifully refined, warm in tone, and quintessentially Scandinavian.
Reupholstered in high-quality Kvadrat SOFT/earthy MINT GREEN wool, the fabric choice elevates the era perfectly. The fresh mint hue nods to classic mid-century palettes while giving the suite a contemporary lift. The texture and durability of wool enhance both the visual appeal and everyday practicality. (Some images dont show true colour).
