A textbook Mangematin piece — three slim, curved brass straps crossing to form an X-shaped base, each leg tapering elegantly to a slender foot, topped with a circular glass plate. It's the kind of sculptural, jewellery-like base that made Mangematin's work for Roche Bobois and others so collectable, and this example has a warm, honestly-aged brass patina rather than a polished re-lacquer.
