The carved timber frame is finished in an ivory crackle lacquer with gilt highlights, framing an oval, button-tufted backrest and upholstered panels throughout.
Hand-carved detailing extends across virtually every visible surface. Scrolling arms and cabriole legs are resolved with pierced cresting and floral ornamentation, giving the piece a sculptural presence beyond conventional seating. Originally intended for interiors where furniture contributed as much to atmosphere as to function, it reflects a level of handwork uncommon in contemporary production.
