About this piece
This set of 6 beautiful plates is dated to the early 20th-Century, likely originating from Guandong Province during the Repulic of China period (1912-1949). This kind of underglaze painting with cobalt-based pigments was incluenced by earlier Japanese styles, ultilising a bright indigo, green and pale pink colour palette.
These provincial wares were produced for regional use and Southeast Asian trade so they are unmarked, lacking a backstamp. These are truly unique and a rare find with this 6 pieces in good condition.
They are a stunning addition to any homewares or antique collection.
Each plate varies slightly in this hand-crafted set. Due to age, there may be slight wear, discolouration and kiln marks from the manufacturing process. However, these items are in great overall condition with lots of character and history baked in.
